Some of the conventions that i have noticed throughout pop music video's are:
1. Close up of the artist's face
In pop music video's they usually have close ups of the artists face whilst they are singing.
2. Slow motion
Slow motion is usually used to give the music a bit of emotion, also because in some cases slow motion can be sexy. This shows the part of Goodwin's theory where they use sexualisation to sell the artist.
3. Story in the video
Through out the music video there is usually a story going on which normal doesn't include the artist. Also it relates to Goodwin's Theory of the lyrics relating to what is happening in the music video.
4. Element of performance
When they have a element of performance in a pop video it makes the audience feel more involved, like the artist is singing to them.
