Final Banner

Here is my final banner, the reason why i haven't used one of the banners i made before was because i could see that i was going a bit off track and wasn't sticking with the way we wanted to represent our band and the digital mood boards which i created. Overall i think this banner is more suitable for our girl band because it uses non-sexualised girls and they also look happy to be together. The photo that i have used isn't the photo that i am going to use for the website because these are not the girls we are using in our music video. During filming i am going to make sure i get a picture of the girls so that i then can use it for the banner.

Banner Designs

Here are the steps i went through when making the top banner, first of all i put my background photo in and then i imported the text. After i have imported the text i removed the white background on the writing so i am just left with the black text. Once i looked at this banner after creating i didn't feel that it fit the genre of the song we are using and it also look too plain.

I then went on to create this banner and once again i feel that i went a bit off track, but this time i went off track when it come to representing the band members. In the photo's which i used to represent the girls they look very sexual and also look nude, therefore i thought of changing my idea and going for a more sweet look rather than sexual.

Testing a Clip

Here is a test run of a clip we would like to use when creating our music video. The clip is of when the girl is looking in the mirror and see herself looking different. We thought we would test this clip first to see if we would be able to get the shot right and how to go about filming it. First of all we set up the camera on a tri-pod so that it will stay in the same position, then we first of all filmed Sean looking in the mirror then we filmed me (Armani) looking in the mirror. Once we had finished doing that we the imported the two clips in to Final cut and cropped the clips so that only half of once image was being shown, therefore looking like the person is looking in the mirror but another person is looking back at them.

Banner Design and Logo

This is my banner for my website. The top banner is a more colourful banner and shows the young and cuteness of the girls, which is the new representation we are trying to give the band. The genre of music this band makes is pop music but i am aware that this banner could be mistaken for Dance genre from where is it very colourful. I decided to have the logo of the band in with the banner so that people will recognise that it is 'Pure Orbit's' website. I also done another banner with a plain white background, which can be effective because it is simple but it still looks good.

This is the plain banner but it is also the logo of the band, which has a heart with orbit rings around it. This will make the band more memorable because the orbit rings on the logo relate to the name of the band.

Storyline Update

From our original story line we have slightly changed it and make it so that the beginning bit is of the girl going in from a party with her friend that no her true identity then she doesn't get anything to sleep and has to get straight up to get changed for school, and changes into her popular identity. Then when she is walking to school in her popular identity she ignores her true friends and goes to her popular friends. Then it shows her laughing and joking with her popular friends. The next day she goes to school in her real identity and when she enters school people look at her in a weird way but she keeps her head held high with a big smile and goes to her true friends.
The contracting friendship groups she has are going to be Gothic and Popular, this is because it will be easier to see the difference between the two types of people and when she dresses up as from Gothic to popular.

Web Page Design Idea

Web Page Design With Back Ground

From my paper design i have made a digital design so that it is a bit clearer to see what the webpage will actually look like. At the moment the text is in white boxes which doesn't look very professional but if it was just the writing you may not be able to see the text properly, therefore that is one thing that i could look at changing or improving. The reason for having these type of links is because when i looked at other girl band groups the all have these types of links, and they were all lined next to each other horizontally. I thought it would be good to have a picture of the girls but make it interactive so that the audience can look through it, therefore making the audience feel like they have a bit of control on the website. I also put the logo of the band at the very top of the page so that it will be the first thing the audience will see, therefore letting them no who's website they are on. Towards the bottom i put another photo of the girls so that it didn't look to boring at the bottom of the page because next to it will be written information about the girls.

Final Music Video Idea

We are still sticking with the performance in the studio intertwined with the storyline of someone trying to find their real identity. The performance in the studio will be of the girl singing each part of their song in the mic's, while using different camera shots to make it a bit interesting.
The final storyline idea we come up with is that there is a girl who is popular at school but at home she is very different. It starts off with her waking up and going to get ready, she looks in the mirror and see her fake identity in the mirror and doesn't like what she see's and smashes the mirror. She then goes to school as her fake identity, while us as an audience no she isn't comfortable with that identity. Then she comes home and bring out her real identity and the next day for school she goes as her real identity and feel better with herself.
So when we are creating this music video we will have clips of the band preforming in the studio and also clip of the storyline which we have created. Therefore it will connote that the song that the band have created does my an influence in people's lives and helps them find their real identity.

Music Video Storyline Idea's

We have decided to combine the idea of filming the performance in the studio with a storyline of someone trying to find their identity. At the moment we are unsure what we want the storyline to be and have come up with a few ideas of what we could do.

The first storyline idea is that there is a girl who is unpopular and at school she is picked on for being a 'loner' and not having no friends. Then when the girl goes home she finds a new found confidence and starts sings song in her room and looks in the mirror. Finally she goes back to school as a more confident person and doesn't care about what people say about her, her bullies are shocked.

The second storyline idea was that a boy dumps a girl, but he didn't treat her right in the first place. The girl gets really upset and beats herself up about it, but then she realises that she is better off without the boy. the boy then realised that he need the girl but she has moved on and ignore his calls and tells him she has moved on. She then goes on to live a better life without him.

The third idea we had was to have a girl who is popular in school and seems to live a perfect life, then at home she has a different identity (eg. emo or goth). Her mums tried coming in her room while she is dressed as her other identity, she shuts her mum and brakes down in tears then looks in mirror see's her two selves and get stressed and brakes the mirror.

Peer Assessment

The person that is peer assessing my mood board is Devon Pacey, and she gave some feed back on what she think worked well and what she feels i could improve or change. This will help me because i will be able to get a view point from someone who isn't in my group and doesn't yet no what representation we are trying to go for with our band.

What works well

• With three mood boards it can give me a variety of things to look at.
• Lot of pictures which could help when it comes to creating the website and digi pack.
• You can clearly see the colour theme that runs through out the photo's which are blues and warm colours.
• There is a variety of pictures of fonts and textures which will yet again help with the digi pack.
• You can also see that in most of the picture there are two people which relates to the girl band and that in a band there is more than one person.

What didn't work well

• There are loads of idea's and it could cause trouble when it comes down to narrowing it down to one idea.
• The mood board doesn't really relate to the genre but relates more to the lyrics.

With this word cloud which i have created it is clear to see that 'here', 'wonna' and 'see' are words in the song that is repeated quite a lot. This shows that with this song they are trying to be noticed with the word 'here', its like a cry for help telling people that they are here. Then the word 'wonna' and 'see' its like they wonna have the attention which the are craving and people are finding it hard to see what they want.

Music video idea's

Idea's
The first main idea we had was that there is someone who is trying to fit in with society or doesn't fit in for some reason or another.

• The music video could be set in the hall when they are doing their performance. We could them film it being filmed, like the camera we are seeing the performance from is like the behind the scene's camera. Then it could show that when they are not preforming none of the girls get along and they are all totally different from each other.
• Another idea we had was that there is one person or one member of the band that wears a mask and in different situations they are in they have a different emotion on their face, which shows that some things they do they are not happy with but still have to do it. 
• We could also have a storyline of someone that goes through there life doing things that aren't very nice and then when they look in the mirror they don't look like themselves. Then everyday when they look in the mirror they start too look uglier and uglier every day.
• Another idea was to have someone either in a costume of painted a different to literally show that they don't fit in to society.
• Then a simular idea to the filming behind the scenes it to set it in the studio and film them creating the song then show what they are really like working together when their fans our not around.

Digital Mood Board

With word from the lyrics and some random word relating to the song i have created a mood board, which is done with the photo's i have found from searching words and phrases. Looking at my mood boards i can see that a lot of the photo's have a browny and old feel to them, which could connote that they are old family photo's or that they are very indie. It having an indie feel is a complete contrast to the actual genre of the song we have, which is pop.  The old feel of the photo's also give a natural feel which relates to the new representation we have created for our girl band. The different textures i have found and that are in the background of some of the pictures could give us an idea of what we could do with the website and the CD cover. I also found that with some of the picture i have found there are people covering their faces and showing there hands, as well there are lot of landscape photo's. Something what i found a lot of where photo's of kitten's, which can connote cuteness yet again relating to the representation.
The song is about realising who you are and not wanting to be like someone else because you don't really no what their life is like, so you should embrace you life. Therefore some of the picture i have found which are of people hiding there face relate to the lyrics of someone not wanting to be who they are, this could be a good storyline of how someone doesn't want to be who they are but then start to realise that they are perfect in their own way.
